Astral Media Radio Inc. (“AMR”) is a subsidiary of Astral Media Inc., one of Canada’s largest media companies. AMR is currently one of the primary – and one of the best – radio entertainment sources in the country, with over 900 professionals, technicians, tradespeople and artists working in three divisions: Astral Media Radio Quebec (including Astral Media Radio Interactive), Astral Media Radio Atlantic and TATV (a classified ads site, formerly known as Télé-Annonces).
Astral Media Radio Quebec operates three networks: Énergie, Rock Détente and Boom FM, for a total of 21 stations throughout the province. Nearly three million people tune in to these stations each week. With the most listened to radio networks in Quebec and the largest share of the province’s 13 main markets, AMR is a force to be reckoned with in the Quebec radio industry.
The recent acquisition of Standard Radio Inc.'s 53 radio stations by Astral Media Inc. will enable AMR to extend its sphere of influence beyond Quebec and to become the largest radio broadcaster in the country.
Ideaction Award description

The Ideaction Award is organized by AMR (or the “Organizers”), which attaches great importance to developing Canadian creative talent. By undertaking this initiative to provide funding to members of Canada’s creative community, AMR will enable numerous idea generators to access the resources they need to carry out their projects. AMR will present three $20,000 awards to applicants who submit projects (the “Applicants”) in the communications, media, new technologies and Internet fields.
